Case Study: Lagom Beauty

Client: Lagom Beauty

Services: Branding and Packaging Design

Lagom Beauty is a modern, feminine clean skincare brand. Lagom believes that you shouldn't have to be at a spa to have a carefree and therapeutic experience. They seek to make their users feel beautiful, feminine and empowered. This is a high-end brand and they want their users' experience to feel memorable and effortless.

Lagom’s audience is typically women in their 30's-40's. They target women who place value in taking care of their skin and are looking for a chemical-free alternative. Their audience is attracted to branding and culture just as much as a high-quality product. They prefer quality over quantity and don't mind spending a little extra on a product that they really love.

Before I start creating a mood board for the project, I like to really think about the brief, so I really focus on the keywords, the vibe or feel that the brand want to evoke. I create a word map listing what type of emotions the words or meaning the words have - this helps with coming up with imagery and colours. The brands target audience, I like to take a deep dive into this because to me is the foundation for a good branding strategy.

Next I used  Pinterest for inspiration and create a mood board using the keys words and kept in mind the brands keys words and the colour phycology. The Keywords for the brand were : Feminine,Effortless,Carefree,Inspired,Elevated and Therapeutic.

I chose the colours for the brand based on the mood board, I use colour phycology so the colour I chose for the brand are very calming, grounding, tranquil and therefore helps to create the vibe that represents this brand.

I started coming up with various ideas of how I wanted the logo to look, still keeping in mind the brands keywords and vibe. After seeing how the brands name looked in various fonts, I chose a serif font that best suited the brands brief which was elegant, bold and represented a high end brand,  here are my workings before I came up with the final logo design.

This was the final Primary, Secondary  logo and Submark that I felt best fit the brands brief.

I then chose photo stock photo’s from Unsplash that represented the brands keywords: Feminine,Effortless,Carefree,Inspired,Elevated and Therapeutic.

I love to show my clients how their brand will look in real life so I used a product mock-up from Harmonias Visual to show how the brand would look on a product to give the brand concept.

This was a passion project I worked on, and I loved the end result. This is the brand board for Lagom Beauty.
